Here’s a list of what I did today–
- Woke up, did yoga, attempted to meditate (instead realized the lines in the wood of my bed banister look like hot dogs).
- Had breakfast, sat outside with tea and listened to podcasts.
- Closed my accounts with a bank, other errands.
- Walked to the river and got so turned around I started laying in a field of grass thinking it was best to just spend the night there.
Number four was where things got a little wonky with me. I seemed to have underestimated the length of steps it takes to get from my house to the river while overestimating my own sense of direction, which really after so many times getting lost in Walmarts should not happen at this point of my life. I made some good honest efforts to find my way back to my development (efforts included walking up hills, discovering that road lead to a culdesac, cursing, repeating). Eventually though, I had to admit defeat and call my little sister for a ride before the monsters got me.
“Hello?”
“Hey.”
“Carly, this is Nick, can you come pick me up?”
“What? Where are you?”
“I’m at the river?”
“Why are you all the way out there?”
“Because I wanted to take a walk and then I wound up here and then I got lost and now its all dark and I am scared.”
What I learned today: If you walk diagonally away from it and try not to make too much eye contact, a rabbit will not hop away. He will however be absolutely terrified during this entire procedure and the look on his face will make you feel bad for not being a carrot.
