HERE IS THE LAST LAZY FIREMAN I EVER DREW.

I think? Maybe? Well, the order of all the comics got a little screwed up. But I don’t have any more! So that is that!

Some puns are fun. Some puns are dang fun.

This comic has a story to it.

It was around this time that I felt Lazy Fireman was getting a little too “pun-y” with it’s jokes. So I decided to make a comic about this and make fun of myself in the process.

In parallel to this there was another cartoonist who was also doing many comics involving puns in the University’s paper. When he saw my comic making fun of bad comics, he took offense. I like to try to imagine his thought process.

“He’s making fun of comics with bad jokes… wait… I make comics with bad jokes!!”

Since my name is on top of the fake comic I thought it was clear who the butt of this joke was, but I guess not.

I’m not sure the caption at the bottom of this comic is even all that necessary.

Here I am trying to make historical jokes again. Bad me! BAD!

At this point I was enamored with Scary Go Round’s line art with only one pen width. I was playing around with that line art style here and I can’t really make it work it seems.

This is probably in my top three favorite Lazy Fireman’s list.

Its the only comic ever where I’ve gotten to draw BOTH bongos and a person’s guts. Normally it is a one or the other affair.

In my opinion, the art takes a step back in this comic. Take a look at how ugly some of those hands are! UGLY!

I misspelled “ark” in the comic. It made me feel stupid but then I learned that nobody got this comic so I realized that everyone else was stupid.

Well that’s not true. But I’m still foggy as to why this comic didn’t make sense to people. I don’t think I could have executed it in a better manner (not a testament to my skills but just a testament to the components of the joke).

I guess everyone once in a while, a cartoonist just has to fess up to the idea that “What I think is funny, everyone else does not”

I remember this comic in particular as a personal turning point for how I treated Lazy Fireman. I wanted to try harder with the art and do jokes that everyone could get rather than just my friends.

I blew away far too much time trying to come up with a pun for that poster in the slice of bread’s room. Nothing really worked and got the point across as well as The Cure though.

Have you ever seen the movie Wishmaster? Back when I thought it was fun to pretend to like horror movies (secretly they made me revert to a childish pretending that it was soda I had spilled upon the crotch of my pants) I saw it.

During the film a skeleton came out of a man.

A skeleton!

I know on an average day about the park you’d expect a skeleton to be inside some men. But to see the unwrapping process and there, clear as crystal, a skeleton stares straight at you where the hollow center of fella should have been is a bit jolting.
