This is the second comic that was submitted to
City Paper for their 2008 Comic Issue. It was not accepted and that stinks!
People seem to either get this comic after a few minutes or think too deeply into the joke and not get it at all so if I can offer some advice: be dumber while reading it. It will pay off!

I was ashamed that I couldn’t get the joke so I favorited the page and resolved to consider it later. I finally got it and can only imagine that the humor was amplified by my efforts and initial failure.

Don’t be ashamed dude! You stuck with it and caught that brass ring.

I am basically desperate to figure this out. Is there a clue anywhere?

I’m probably giving away too much when I say this (so if someone is reading this and doesn’t want the joke spoiled I’d recommend skipping this post) but the joke has something to do with the phrase “a problem”.

My head is going to explode. 7+2=9? Where’s the joke?! Is this even funny?
July 20th, 2010 at 5:10 am
Whether or not it’s funny, is up to you dude!
But the joke is in what that number is saying, focus on that.
This is further proof that people either like or hate this comic, haha.

Wait… Am I missing what people are missing? If 9 comes, it will be a math problem. Isn’t that the joke?
